University of Management and Technology (UNIMTECH), a proud partner of the Sierra Leone Education in Entrepreneurial Pedagogy & Skills (SLEEK) project, is delighted to announce the launch of this transformative initiative under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) programme. The project aims to strengthen Sierra Leone’s capacity to foster entrepreneurship education, create quality jobs, and empower youth and women entrepreneurs.

The SLEEK project brings tremendous benefits to Sierra Leone by:

  • Enhancing entrepreneurial education across higher education institutions (HEIs).
  • Developing a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Creating quality jobs, particularly for youth and women.
  • Strengthening partnerships between academia and the business sector.

By addressing weaknesses in entrepreneurship education, SLEEK is poised to drive sustainable growth, social cohesion, and innovation within Sierra Leone. 

Project Partners

  • United Methodist Church University, Sierra Leone as an observing partner

This partnership showcases the importance of collaboration between public and private universities in Sierra Leone, combining expertise to achieve impactful outcomes.

Theme

The theme of the SLEEK project is “Enhancing Entrepreneurship Pedagogy for Sustainable Growth and Job Creation.”

Objectives

The SLEEK project aims to:

  1. Develop a comprehensive entrepreneurship curriculum for Sierra Leonean educators.
  2. Establish an Entrepreneurship Academyto provide cutting-edge training for educators and integrate the business sector into the educational process.
  3. Support youth and women entrepreneurs by enhancing their business skills and promoting employability.

Impact

Through SLEEK, higher education institutions in Sierra Leone will:

  • Enhance the quality of entrepreneurship teaching.
  • Empower graduates with practical skills for the job market.
  • Contribute to achieving the Erasmus+ priorities of inclusion, sustainable growth, and innovation.
  • Strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, ultimately boosting economic growth and reducing unemployment.
