Applied Economics & Marketing

Applied Economics and Marketing is the study of economics in relation to real world situations; as opposed to the theory of economics. Also marketing is the action or business of promoting and saving products or services, including market research and advertising.

Learning Outcomes

Students will:

  • Be able to communicate effectively, both written and orally, economic concepts and business decision-making.
  • Have the skills to fit into a business, agency, or academic environment and use economic concepts to quantify and analyse issues related to their employer’s issues. 

Assessment

Students are assessed using the following: Attendance, Test or Assignment, Presentation or Term Paper, Examination

Requirements

  • 5 WASSCE, including English, Mathematics and three (3) subjects from the following Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting and Economics in two sitting.
  • HTC Business Studies Division I or II
  • OD in Business Studies / Management
