University of Management and Technology UNIMTECH had yesterday, 30th April 2022, unship congregate of Students for the conferment of Degrees, Diploma, and certificates at the Abie Paula Amphitheatre main campus in Freetown Kissy Dockyard. As the graduation ceremony themed “THE UNIVERSITY IN PURSUANCE OF EXCELLENCE FOR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RELEVANCE”. This calls for it determination to attain excellence in a wider perceptive for national and international standard, which is a major boost to the Human Capital Development.
A batch of over one thousand students in disciplines such as Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Logistics and Procurement Management, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Development and Economic, Applied Marketing and Economic and on, were well tooled to face the global market and contribute to National Development. These graduates are expected to add their share of expertise to the Nation and beyond, who are delicately yearning for their impact in the society and world.
UNIMTECH has been the only indigenous University in Sierra Leone and the commitment to enhance a well shaped and molded workforce has been key in it proposition. In doing so, it stretches it wings to subsidiary campuses across the country like Kono, Bo, Lunsar, Kambia, Y.W.C.A and Lungi. This speaks to the eyes and ears of the University taking education to the doorsteps of Sierra Leoneans, which is “Primus inter pares” to other Universities. Not forgetting it new adventures of fish ponding at Kambia and Mining refinery at Bo to maintain the quality of the institution. The decentralization of it day to day operations has been a force to recon with, that exempt it from the queue.
The University went through a thoroughgoing process in the pursuit to attract the Academic environment, for that, it’s able to survive the trying times of academic competitors and now among the best in the country. It’s continuing race of metamorphosing from a mere computer institute to an accredited and recognized University internally and externally has been a myth in the eyes of many. It owns nothing much, but becoming the center of attraction in the well of academia. This in nexus with it prowess to align succulent programs that speak to the contemporary societies becomes it utmost. So, it long desires for quality assurance and pursuance of Excellence are fundamentals power of strength in it cause of it invading the Academic terrain of the nation.
The beauty of this University is a never-ending journey, for it desires beyond normal strength of existence. Its legalities are far beyond under the mango tree, and it quest to shape the Academic model is core to its existence. Nevertheless, it is rapidly advancing in membership and capacity. Since the Educational environment is a highway and constrictive overtaking is allowed to enhance a competitive Academic terrain, UNIMTECH has been the Academic overtaker in Sierra Leone.
